Negative PROFIT margins?
It's sad... A marketer was upset... He said he has earned over $21 million dollars in revenue, but the marketing expenses were deeply negative...
Earning revenue is great The problem is that revenue looks good, yet if you don't have the ability to factor in profit margins you will LOSE more than what you are earning.
It looks so glorious at first but it's a slow kill.
You need market groups. It is common to just blast ads to run to consumers as one big group but the reality is that there are different kinds of people out there that will buy your product and services.
With granularity you can begin to form market groups and develop campaigns AROUND them. You will be able to tie in revenue as well as profits to the actual strategies that you are implementing.
Take responsibility and learn about your consumers. Not just the demographics but the psycho-graphics. Everyone may NEED to buy a specific type of product or service, but consumers will only BUY your product vs the competition because they want to.
Marketing is a conversation. How well are you communicating with your audience(s)?
